Undrafted Free Agents
Auston English- OLB, Oklahoma- had 9 sacks in 07 then was hurt for mostly the rest of his OU career, maybe he can stay healthy and turn into a pass rush specialist.
Casey Bender- OT, SDSU
Jon Dempsey- LB, Louisville- Was a productive tackler at Louisville but is very undersized
Troy Wagner- TE, Indiana- Was always hurt but I guess the Browns see some potential in him
Joel Reinders- OL, Waterloo
Nothing too exciting here, maybe there will be more to come.
I got this off this site: http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/p/2010-nfl-undrafted-free-agents.html
I wonder what would happen, if the Browns put up a web site, showing the millions available, and asked for anyone world-wide who thought they were worthy to send them their info. Then they could check them out. I imagine there are some real freaks out there who could be stars. How about a whole group of Sumo wrestlers for our O-line ? C'mon, China has over 1.1 billion people ! There's gotta be some monsters. How about India ? Africa ? Latin America ? farging Guam !! ... I wouldn't search Japan, though. They'tre all playing baseball. Is that racist ?
As for here, I'm sure we'll get a player or 2 who will make the squad. Like Day 3, I think Heckert will find a few gems.
Thanks for the site. The Pats draft process is AMAZING !!!
Just think, if Modell would have just stayed put, and asked the City for something on a ballot, or just sold the team, and left it here ?
We'd possibly have the Hoody at HC, Newsome as GM, and a few Rings of our own.
Do you think ther's some alternative universe, where that actually happened ???
Lol doubt it
The final list has 4 more guys on it:
Eryk Anders LB (Alabama)
Daniel Howard OLB (Texas Tech)
Chris Chancellor CB (Clemson)
Willie Walker DE (California PA)
I like these guys. Daniel Howard had 7 sacks last year and 41 tackles as a DE for TTU. If he can make the transition to OLB he has a chance to make the team. I expect him to be on the practice squad next year. Along with Reinders the OT from Waterloo, the guy has great size but only 2 years of playing experience. Eryk Ander and Chris Chancellor are other guys I'd pick to make at least the practice squad. Anders had 6 sacks as a LB from Bama, if he can handle playing inside he'd be a good fit. Chancellor had 157 tackles and 9 Ints in his career at Clemson, those are very draftable numbers. He was even invited to the Combine, hes his positives and negatives...
Positives:
Chancellor is an athletic corner who possesses nice quickness, balance and agility. He was a productive performer in college. Exhibits good instincts in coverage. Is a competitive guy. Has the ball skills you like to see. Is willing and solid in run support despite his size.
Negatives:
I hope the Browns aren't wasting any time getting people to come here for a tryout. They usually announce a handful of signings shortly after the draft. Maybe they could look at track stars for a WR.
Someone like Trindon Holliday(LSU). He went to Houston in the sixth. We could have really used him, if only to spread the D.
Forgot to mention dept.: Ciron Black is a FA. Ya think they'll sign him ? I wonder what the heck they're waiting for!!
Now it's unconfirmed, but Ciron Black supposedly just went to the Squealers. Poopballs.
Close to 70 undrafted WRs are now trying out for various teams, including at least 3 area guys, one from Toledo, one from Youngstown State, and Ray Small from OSU, yet exactly none of them are trying out with the Browns.
Laeverneoaus (craziest spelling of a first name ever) Coles, C'mon Down !!!
..... unless they're patiently waiting for cuts. Who's getting "overpaid" ?
The Eagles stole my man Riley Cooper, the last WR picked before Mitchell. Blasted Lewis!!
Ciron Black and Selvish Capers both went undrafted, good things I'm not drafting for the Browns haha. And the guy from Walterfootball for that matter, and he gave us a C-....
I hated Ray Small, there's no way he makes an NFL team. But I understand not working out a undrafted receiver, right now we have two 2-year receivers, one third-year receiver, and a rookie. I'm starting to think Mangini doesn't want Coles. He wasn't re-signed by his Jets (but maybe that decision was made after he fired?) and he didn't do well in the Bengals offense. Nonetheless I want him. Any ideas on veterans who could get cut?
Imagine if we would've traded for Ginn, Holmes and Troy Smith. Would've only taken 2 of our 5th rounders and maybe a third. Would've been interesting...
I highly doubt the Stealers would have dealt Holmes to us. We should have gone after Ginn, though.
Syndic Steptoe? We needed to get some competition in here, Small couldn't make the team,ok, but the other two, along with alot of other fast WRs could've had a shot. Ya can't win if ya don't enter.
Good thing we didn't pass on Cribbs. We brought him in as a KR/WR. Things happen.
I just asked you that. Alright. I'll check out overpaid WRs. ASAP. But first, sprockets,we must dance !!!
