Now what?
My Browns board for 2
Clausen
Kindle
Benn
Griffen
Tate
Mays
I'd take the highest of these guys left.
Too early to rank the third. Depends whose left.
Did you hear that Holgrem said he forgot we got Brown from the Eagles after the draft last night???
1. A. Jimmy Claussen
1. B. Colt McCoy
2. Roger Saffold
3. Sergio Kindle
4. Taylor Mays
5. Nate Allen
What did Holmgren say??
Just a friend said that Holgrem said Haden would match well with Wright as the CBs, and when he was asked about Brown, he said, " yeah, that's right, Brown slipped my mind". I didn't see it, and just wondered if anyone else heard that. Like we got Holgrem to be our " figurehead ", more than anything else.. It looks like Heckert is running the show. Moreso than I thought. I wanted it to be Holgrem making sharp decisions, ala Ozzie....I have to believe they'll put Brown in the FS slot.
I did just hear Holgrem said he loved both Clausen and McCoy, but the Browns just have too many other needs, and they'd like to get a QB, but not until later in the draft. Sounds like he's just being nice.
So far I would have taken Earl Thomas, then Kindle. I guess the Browns think Elam isn't cutting it, either, to take TJ Ward. TJ is a big hitter, ala Mays.
Holy shmoleys, that was close! I thought we traded ahead of the Seahawks to get Colt.
Montario will compliment Harrison, and possibly become our main RB. I thought we could have got him in the 3rd, though. I guess Jennings days are numbered.
Geeze, we still need to address WR,OL,DL,OLB,and QB. I hope Jake's arm catches it's second wind, if there is such a thing.
I give us a C, so far.
I know, Brick by brick.......
I have no idea what we are doing. It took me about 10 mins to convince myself Ward was an okay pick but trading up for Montario Hardesty? He's a good player but trading our first 3rd and first 2 fives?
We still need help on both lines. Charles Brown and Vlad Duccasse were both still there.
I trust Heckert and Holmgren but both these guys have injury history. But I'll keep watching
I hope we grab a WR soon. I can't imagine us going with what we have at WR.
Damiam Williams, Jacoby Ford and Jordan Shipley all still there.
I'm not even going to guess anymore what we are going to do lol. We will see what happens, two more picks tonight.
Ravens and Bengals are having a great draft though : /
Man, if we could only have Ozzie for our GM!!!
There's Riley Cooper, too.
I wonder if the Browns made the trade with the Eagles before Ben Tate got picked, then just took the next highest big back on their board. Walter football rated the pick a D. WTF???
We need two real good picks, or I'm gonna be real unhappy.
We won't know for sure until we see it, but it doesn't look so good, right now.
I just thought of one name that made me really excited about Montario Hardesty, that name is Frank Gore. Gore is one of my favorite rbs in the NFL right now and he is a guy who was drafted in the second round when he had first round talent but didnt make it because of injuries.
I don't think we will be able to tell how good this draft is until our players take the field but we'll see what else is to come.
ps- finally got myself an avatar!
I know how they can make my day!
Colt McCoy at 85!!!! Why not?
Lets do it. Mardy Gilyard is another reciever i forgot about he could be there when we pick again in 7 picks!
Josh cribbs. Nice avatar. I'm glad he's not a big showboat after he scores. He doesn't get enough credit for being respectful of the game. He belongs in the Hall of Fame one day.
I am totally freaking out about the draft.
1- Haden, Holgrem called the pick a homerun. CB is the toughest DB position, and if they put Brown at FS, nice job. But an easy pick. At least they didn't take Bruce Campbell. A
2- TJ Ward OK, I'll go along with Mays being too stupid to cover. TJ Ward did have 10 tackles against OSU in the Rose Bowl. The injuries concern me. Like he was playing for a contract this year. Could be a great one, or a bust. Definitely more of a SS than a FS. Sergio Kindle was still around. B
2- Montario Hardesty Here's where I go bonkers. Why not just wait until our first third, and get him or a reciever if he's gone. I hope they're right about him. Another guy that appears to have been playing for a contract. At least they didn't trade up for McCoy,here.
3- Colt McCoy I didn't want him, in the 2nd. I didn't want him, in the 3rd, either. Nobody else in the draft wanted him.I would have went with a WR. Forget about Lefevour or Kafka, now.
4-Shawn Lauvao Good pick. We need to protect our QBs, if they want to have a chance. Can play tackle or guard. Hopefully.he'll start from day one at RG.
I hope they have some hidden agenda, as to who the heck our QB is gonna find open, and throw the ball to. I hope they sign Coles ASAP.
I felt bad after last years draft. This draft was comparable. Their are question marks all over.
We do still have 3 picks, but we should have 5. I hope they know what they're doing, because it seems like they are bunch of idiots. I hope I'm wrong.
Day 3:
5-Larry Assante- safety- Good quality, for the 5th. Some depth. If TJ ends up at FS, he will challenge Elam at SS right away. But they passed on Myron Rolle. So I can only give a B.
6-Carlton Mitchell-WR- Yee-Haw!! A WR!! This guy is capable of Becoming our #1. He ran a 4.0 and a 4.2 at his Pro Day, and he caught 40 balls for almost 18ys. per catch. Great hands, and athleticism. Will keep the CBs/safeties honest. Huge pick. A
6-Clifton Geathers-DE Projected 3rd-4th rounder. 2 gapper in the 3-4. Terrific prospect. 6'8" 300 lbs.
with long arms. A
I'm happy we covered WR and DL, both need areas. I would have liked to have had the two fifths we gave up for Hardesty, seeing how many good players were left.
