Should we let Ryan go?
I read that Rob Ryan would be interested in the Raiders HC job,and that unsettles me.I think he'll be a stud Head Coach one day,and it would be a shame,if we keep Mangini around, just to lose him.
Honest injun,I'd rather cut Mangini, and make Ryan Head Coach, than see him go.I know are defense was pitiful, but I think it was more the players abilities, than the scheme,or play calling.
I hope he stays, and then gets his shot,if Mangini can't.
I wouldn't want Mangini to be fired so Ryan could be head man here, just wouldnt make sense. But I dont want to lose Ryan to the Raiders but I guess we will have to wait and see.
We should absolutely keep Ryan here. I think he has potential to be an excellent DC, and I LOVE his enthusiasm on the sidelines. He gets those guys pumped to play games.
I've always believed that if a coach is offered a higher position by another team, that the team they're currently with has to let them take advantage of the opportunity. So if Ryan wants to go,he's gone.
I understand what you're saying,gb216.How could Holgrem explain letting Mangini go,right after keeping him on? I think someone in Oakland is very wise in stealing away Ryan now.I hope it doesn't happen.I hope he takes Terry Plutos advice.Oakland is a tarpit for HCs anymore.
Ryan said he believes that none of the stuff about coaching for Oakland is true, so if he is offered I think we will take it for sure. But I'm not so sure Al Davis wants Ryan. He has no head coaching experience and when he was the DC they were never an elite D. Even though I'm pretty sure Ryan would make a good head coach, I'm not sure Al Davis's mind reads the same way.
The Raiders are searching high and low for a replacement.I heard Kevin Gilbride, and after that,Marc Trestman(HC in canada),Jim Harbaugh, and even UFL Las Vegas HC Jim Fassel.
Could you imagine the Browns bringing in Jim Fassel?
I've heard they might keep Cable another year, but it sure seems like there'll have to be NO takers for the job.....JimFassel?
Yeah I think he will keep Cable..he wants someone with head coaching experience and no one with that wants to work for Oakland
Well we don't have to worry about Ryan leaving anymore but we have to worry about Daboll staying...Apparently before deciding to keep Mangini Holmgren spoke to Bret Farve.
"Favre not only spoke highly of Mangini, he raved about Browns' offensive coordinator Brian Daboll."
Great googledy-gop! Do you have an address?Maybe he was raving about Dabolls home cooking,or some garbage. And Manginis linguini!...Too bad Favre keeps being the goat,he just can't stop throwing INTs.Just like that scorpion on the frogs back, crossing the river.....it's his nature!
Daboll was the QB coach when Favre was in town. Completely different monster.
