How long do YOU (you) think it will take before the Browns have another winning season.  I am not talking about playoffs, but if you would like, please add that projection to your post.

Thanks,

Havelock Browns

Depends on what happends in the offseason IMO. If we just get some random guy to be the GM and head of the organization think i think it will be 6-10 years. If we get a Parcells or Holmgren type guy I think it would be more like 2-4 years.

  A WINNING season,as in 9-7?Or,how about,winning the Super Bowl?

Right now,as a real Browns fan,I'd say next year to both.Because it's possible.
I have seen some some stunning things in my lifetime,as I'm sure you have.
People win the lottery every day.A person is told he'll never walk again, and in two years,he's jogging by my house. The Browns beat the Giants last year.Etc...besides,we're so overdue!

But from the outside looking in,with belief that Lerner can get a quality guy in here, who will bring quality support, anywhere from 2-4 years,to be a playoff contender.

And being more optimistic, yet not real Browns fan,I have to say that if they do the off-season right, with us having the second most money to spend, and free agents galore, and the high picks, and the amount of picks, plus the underachivers we already have,I think the right guy/guys could get free agents to come here and draft right, and SHOULD put us in the playoffs NEXT YEAR.We'll have a weak schedule, hopefully in a much better line-up,with some easier early games, letting us get on a roll. And the teams in our division are looking more beatable.Alot could go better.Super Bowl! Super Bowl!
OK,I'm calmed down.If we do bring in a new guy,and he's of Holgrem type quality, and he brings in a new coaching staff, even an excellent draft and some good FAs,it'll likely take a year just to gel.
But if they WORK the way they all claim they do,I don't see why, with no QB controversy(not again, argh!),that they can't gel in traing camp. They should be able to work out the kinks in a couple of months, you'd think.

   Go Browns!!!

About bringing in free agents...first of all there's not that many top notch guy out there even if we have a lot of money to spend and I believe the report is true that free agents arent going to come here to play for Mangini. If Mangini isn't replaced and a respectable guy isn't named the head of the organization it will be a while.

Well, to be honest, we're in a great position if the CBA doesn't get signed. Lerner is one of the healthiest owners in the league, and because we wouldn't be a playoff team, we wouldn't have a limit as to how many FA's we'd sign and how much money we'd spend.

Something neat I just learned about the CBA is that the last 8 playoff teams cannot sign more free agents than they lost, whereas the other 24 teams can sign as many as they want.
