Last year before the draft was when this forum was at its best. Knowing what we know who would you draft in last years draft instead of the players we got. This is what I would do.

1st round-Clay Mathews (LB)- We still trade down and gather more picks but take Mathews instead.

2nd round- Rey Maualuga (LB)- We need so much help with our linebackers and Maualuga would've been a steal.

2nd round- Mohammed Massaqoui (WR)- I think he has a lot of potential not as a number 1 receiver but with more talent around him MoMass could be a great addition.

4th round- Austin Collie (WR)- I like that we tried to add 2 young receivers and Collie is having a great season in Indy.

6th round- Al Afalava (S)- Afalava has looked good for the bears and this is a position of need for us.

6th round- Bernard Scott (RB)- And we thought we got the steal with Davis. Scott has not looked like a 6th rounder at all for the Bengals this year.

I'm just tootin' my horn, but I wanted to trade down, pick Jeremy Maclin,Eben Britton, and Massaquoi 1-2-3,based on how terrible we were on offense last season.
Maclin is a speedy guy, starting for the Eagles, and Britton has started all year in Jacksonville, and will be for years to come.
How much better would we have fared?
We would have had to rely on Fraley at center, but the RT wouldn't need help, and I think we'd see recievers getting open.
Coulda made a huge difference.Woulda coulda shoulda.

   I'll admit I was against Maualuga though.He doing pretty good,for a rookie.

Take a gander at my blog. I had a blog called "Hindsight 20/20".

I read the blog, good stuff your right I would love to have gotten kruger. But I think you now regret saying "I think people underestimate St. Clair at the RT spot, and i truly think Tucker will stay healthy all season." lol

You're right about that last part, haha. I hate being wrong sometimes. :(

Last year instead of Mack I would have loved to grab Oher. Sure Fraley wasn't doing amazing at center, but he was doing decent. Right now are RT spot is hurting big time, Oher is not only a great story but has been playing excellent for Baltimore. The only other pick that I really right now have an opinion about worth complaining, I kind of wish we took any linebacker instead of Robiskie.

We could have had Mack, and Eben Britton, whose now with the Jags, instead of Robo.Robo does look a bit slow, but he does have alot of football savvy, and good hands. The jury is still out on him.Hopefully, our new GM won't keep Mangini, and find someone who isn't busy putting guys in his doghouse, instead of getting them playing time.
Even last night, the guy who was benched,in favor of NY JETman Coleman,Williams gets his first start, and responds with 2 sacks in the first half. Then he spends the second half on the bench. If he wasn't hurt, what was Mangini thinking?

Mangini has made a lot of mistakes and I'm still not a fan of him but it was his ways that won us the steeler game, which also was a great morale boost for the team. I'd hate to lose that by firing the coach, also I'm sure Rob Ryan would be leaving with him which would not be good. I think for next year we need to get a very good GM/VP to make the personal decisions and watch over Mangini and a new OC (charlie weiss cough cough). This way were limiting Mangini's power but the players don't have to go through another head coaching change.

It was "Manginis ways" that won the Steeler game? Would another Coach been able to do as well?

I thought the players were there, because they know how big this game is to the city, whereas the Steelers were just trying to keep it close enough for Big Ben to pull out another one,and go home unhurt.

I thought Rob Ryan did an excellent job.I'm not certain, but I think he runs the D,and got McDonald back out at CB,and Poteat a piece of pine.I thought he had an excellent game plan, and did a much better job play calling. The rest was the players, doing their jobs, and forcing Big Ben to eat the ball.I give half the sacks to the coverage. That won the game. That, and the offense not losing it for us.

I don't think Rob Ryan has to go,just because Mangini does.I would like to see Ryan come in as interim Coach for the last game or two,to give Mangini and himself some seperation.
Then bring in the new regime,(who will undoubtedly not pay Cribbs, because it wasn't them who said he should get a raise),and put Ryan back in the DC spot.I really think he's gonna have a productive career in the NFL.Why not here?..As a matter of fact,I would keep Mangini,if I could, rather than lose Ryan along with him. It's up to the new guy, maybe Reese, the guy who presided over the Oilers/Titans for a long time. He's available, wants a job,and has some skills.I'd be fine with him.

You can say that just because thats what you want to believe. Poteat was playing terribly so there was no way he could start, everyone saw it including Mangini. I havent liked Mangini this year, but you cant say it wasnt him who made that great personal decision when you dont know if its true or not, when its probably not.

I cant remember a time where the head coach was fired and one of the coordinators stayed, whoever the new coach is who have his own guys in mind. I think there's a great shot of us winning the rest of our games. Theres no way Mangini wins us the last 4 games of the season and still gets fired. Wining 5 games with this team is crazy enough.

That first sentence I wrote,OK.I said "I think",which could have been "I believe"which you reiterated for me.The rest of it,Ryans game plan, after they beat us down in game one,and the playcalling on defense, that WAS Rob Ryan.I believe that Mangini still has at least a 50-50 shot of leaving, and even if he stays,he won't be in charge of the draft(95%),and if he stays or goes,Rob Ryan isn't going anywhere(95%).IMHO,that is.Mangini's only hope is if his GM wants him around, and takes away all his powers,EXCEPT Head Coaching.

 Go Browns!!!

probably not?
