Good riddance.I'd make Bernie GM if I could. He's finally out from his pussificating marriage, and has football nowhow out the hooha. He's had his warm-ups,with the defunct IFL(?),and should be offered the position. He wants the Browns to win so bad,he'll do anything it takes.IMHO.

Yeah but Bernie also just went bankcrupt so idk if thats the kinda guy you want as the GM but I'd love him as either a QB coach or a OC

Bernie ain't living on the street, dude.Bernie went so called "bankrupt" because of his ex,and that football league. At least he took a shot. And got to twist Babette around like a pretzel, while it lasted.
From what I've learned,Bernie is gonna be the GMs boss, like President of the Browns,or something along those lines
But,I,too, would like to see him on the sidelines,or as OC,up in the booth.

Go Browns!!!

KNR,WOIO.That was right after Kokinis was let go.There was speculation that he could be a candidate for a "higher postion" in management.Someone to oversee operations, and report directly to Mr. Lerner.WOIO showed Bernie talking to Randy, all dressed up,with a suit on.Have you ever seen Bernie with a suit on?Now,with the names being tossed around,it doesn't appear that he'll get that high of a position.I can't see Holgrem going along with it.But it's pure speculation, right now.

I don't know if Kokinis even counts as half, what did he even do for this team?

I know there's not alot of love right now for Mangini, but I just saw an interview with him on the Berea Report, and he just rattled off my philosophy,as his answer to how the team is further behind, because he chose to go away from BQ,and bring in DA in week 3.
He said, "First, that's all heresay, who knows what might have went down, and second,I can only go by what's going on at the time."Only he said it better.I can't remember the exact words.
He isn't a BQ "not liker",like some have said.He just did what he thought was best. And he said he told BQ to keep his head up,and be prepared to come back. And now is the time.
Mangini has made alot of good decisions, even when they look bad at first. He had the jewels to trade BE away, who wasn't coming back here anyway.
I'm behind Mangini now more than ever.He needs more time.I think he'll build a winner.

Go Browns!!!

The BE trade was very good. It was sort of like the CC trade the Indians pulled. Why not trade him and get something for him when you won't be able to re-sign him? Only the Indians did it because they couldn't afford him. We did it because he didn't want to play in this city.

As of now, the KW2 trade looks neither good nor bad. He's not doing anything in Tampa Bay because the lack of a QB, IMO, and we didn't really get anything out of it just yet, however, that could change in two years if our players develop.

The thing about the Braylon trade is that we didnt get anything for him. Sure we got 2 players and a draft pick but out of the 2 players Stuckey has dropped every pass thrown his way and Trusnik looks overwhelmed on almost every play. And from what we got with last years draft it doesnt look like Mangini will get anything from that pick we got from NY.

Idk about the Winslow trade because I think he would've been really productive here still but we couldn't afford for him to be a bad locker room influence.

Before the season, there was alot of talk of trading BE.But I never heard any solid offers, that they declined.Maybe they were offered more, and should have jumped at that. But at the time, they thought that the offer didn't compare to BEs potential....So,he's still dropping balls,he gets in trouble with the law,and makes disparaging remarks about being a Brown.Next thing you know,he's gone.
It appeared to be a knee-jerk reaction. At the time it happened,I questioned whether the entire League was made aware of his availability, and given time to respond.I'm guessing that the Jets gave them a 12hr. window to make a decision,or they'd rebuke their offer.I'd have called them on it.
Still,he wasn't going to be around,at a fair price, regardless.Dealing him was the best option.
Stuckey was doing OK with the Jets, and if he and BQ get on the same page,he's signed through next year cheap.Trusnik can help our depleted LBs,(he had 7 solo tackles vs. the Bears)and he's a RFA next year.
The picks we got will likely turn out to be around 80 and 144.Nothing to write home about.
But we can take the money we would have paid BE,who is dropsy prone, although most expected him to hang on when it counted, toward another No.1 reciever, who will likely/hopefully turn out better than BE.

As for Mangini being fired,I heard somewhere(I listen to radio, watch Red Zone,Berea Report, etc.somewhere in there) that while Kokinis was gone, the Browns were planning on keeping Mangini,at least for the remainder of the season.I think that's the smart thing to do,too.
Unless they want me to coach,of course. grin

i'm with you, man.  I liked what he was saying in the beginning, then i started listening to all this hogwash from the media and all that mess, but i read something on cleveland.com and i am back in favor of Mangini.  I think he has what it takes to get things right, and if you remember when Bellichick took over the Pats, it took like 2 or 3 seasons to get them winning.

Sure we know. We saved a lot of money, got a primadonna out of the locker room, and got 4 players for him. Whether those players produce or not is dependent on if we have any coaching. Either way, saving money, and ridding him of our locker room was a big plus.

As for Trusnik, I'm not sure we're watching the same games. He's got a great motor, and is in every play. Sure he doesn't look great, or elite, but he doesn't look bad for a guy that's never played 34 OLB. He was always just a special teams guy. There's plenty of room for him to improve.

I'm certain (without evidence) the offers that we had in the preseason for BE were a lot better then we ended up taking. And from the looks of it so far not having Braylon has hurt Massaqoui's development. I just think there was no step forward taken and im sick of watching us go more downhill.

Your right theres plenty of room to improve but we traded one of our best players for this guy (among others). He came in and took away playing time from our young guys who have been here for a while and havent gotten chances and hes not doing that much with his reps. I'd like to see a lot more of Hall and Viekune.
