QBs getting acclimated to new receivers
"They've both been making some good progress," Mangini said before today's OTA practice. "It's a group thing. As the routes are run crisper and more at precise depths, then some of the throws will improve. As they learn the read better and the plays better ... We've thrown a ton of stuff at them, so it's high, high volume, to expose the group to as much as possible."
The quarterbacks are getting acclimated to four new receivers who should line up behind Braylon Edwards on the depth chart. Newcomers included veterans David Patten and Mike Furrey and second-round draft picks Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi.
Robiskie was considered one of the most polished receivers in this year's draft, but even he has a lot of learning to do.
"I'd say he's like the rest of the group," Mangini said. "Some days something clicks and he runs that very well. Some days where maybe he's got it jumbled up with what he did at Ohio State and it doesn't look the same.
"But those guys are dealing with so much now -- change in coaches, change in terminology, getting used to the structure of practice."
The Browns have three more OTA practices before a mandatory three-day minicamp June 11-13.
