Trade With Washington Already Worked Out?

I've heard Cleveland (picking fifth) and Washington have already discussed a deal if Sanchez is still on the board at five. I don't expect Sanchez to be there at five.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/04/20/draft/1.html

The whole article is a good read.  He goes on to say that some of Britt, Heyward-Bey and Nicks will be there in the second.  Also, he has a cool chart showing each team's trade history the past five years - I think we're going to see a major change in draft strategy from the previous five years.  Plus, Eugene Monroe has a 60 year old brother!

I still like Robo at 36 over any of those guys(If Mack is gone) but, I would be alright with it if we took one of those recievers at 36 aswell. That would be perfect to trade the pick to Washington if  we got a 2nd or next years 1st and obviously there 1st this year.

The only way Sanchez won't be there is if Denver or Jax trades up.

As for pick #36, Robo, and Mack are both bad choices. Why spend a 2nd on a center who's a 3rd round talent?

As for Robo, at #36, there will be better receivers. Britt, and Nicks will both be there most likely, and Heyward-Bey is a possibility.

#36 needs to go to Rashad Jennings, Rashad Johnson, or Jarron Gilbert.

dabrowns41;You say why take Mack ,a third round talent,in the second, yet you have two third round talents,Jennings and Johnson,as the guys we should take at 36.
I'd be O.K. with Gibert at 36,if he's still around. That's one of the guys the Steelers are looking at.
Mack,at 50 would be alright,if you think Center is that high on the needs list. He's second round talent.
As for Robo,I think only Britt will be left, and he's better.I'd rather get Crabtree, then get Larry English at 36,and Rashad Johnson at 50,seeing as we don't have a third rounder.I like Mohamed
Massaquoi(WR),if we pick up a third rounder,or if he drops to 104(and we don't get Crabtree,of course).
         Edwards stays:   1)Curry,Monroe,Crab
                                  2)Gilbert,English,D.Brown
                                  3)Rashad Johnson,Patrick Chung

As for the topic,I think Sanchez will be taken already. If he's still there, and they want to throw extra picks at us to trade down,I'll be happy. As long as they don't screw the picks up.

I'm not in agreement that Jennings or Gilbert are third round talents.

Both are potential late first round picks, depending on how the first 25 picks play out.

The only reason why Mack and Unger go earlier is because of how weak this entire draft is, and there is a lot of good talent at the RB position in the 2nd/3rd round, same with DE.

Gilbert is shooting up draft boards because of his brute strength combined with his athleticism. There aren't many quick big guys in the league anymore.

Jennings is an all-purpose back, think Terrell Davis. He can block on third down, he can catch out of the backfield if needed, he doesn't have the greatest timed speed, but he's incredibly tough to bring down.

dabrowns41:      I don't think you read what you think you thought you read.

I think Gilbert will go to Pittsburgh with the last pick of round 1.Gilbert would OK with me.

It's the other two that are actually 3rd rounders. We can do better at 36.Larry English should be there.Or Donald Brown,if you want to go RB.He's first round talent, and is a workhorse.I have him at the top of my RB board. The media has him no better than third. He should be available.
To defend my putting him first,I think that Wells has foot problems that will prove to be his undoing, and Knowshon is a scatback, and I like Harrison. It seemed like they could have given Harrison more touches last year.A play using him would go for 15,then he'd be out the rest of the game...On the other hand,D Brown could replace Lewis, should he go down, and eventually, anyway.
I personnally would wait until 104 or even 177 to pick up a RB. It's been shown that many of todays top RBs were second day guys, who get on a team that can make holes for them to run through. That's why we need a Monroe much more than a Wells.

At 50,because we have no third rounder,Rashad Johnson will be there, and we have to get a SS.

Let's hope that we can trade down,at 5,36,and/or50,and get more picks,as this draft is heavy at the end of the first, and the start of the second day, with alot of second tier talent.

Today at 6PM on the NFL channel, the show will be about the Browns and the Bengals. They are going through each team, and it's our turn.About time.

Go Browns!!!

Sorry, I tend to skip through things. I thought you said Jennings and Gilbert.

I'm going to have to agree to disagree on the Donald Brown thing. Do I like him? Yes. Do I think he's better than Jennings? No.

Brown is a 1st and 2nd down back. He's not that great out of the backfield and his pass pro is worthless. I can't stand RB's that can't block for the QB. I can deal with not catching out of the backfield, but one of the most important things is blocking for the QB in specific situations.

Johnson is a guy who could go mid-2nd round, and at 50 would be good value, but again, so would Chung.

I think the only thing we disagree about is the RB's.

I'd take Brown,I think he's better at all phases, and a better all around athelete.Jennings is just bigger.

But I wouldn't want a back until the second day, anyway.Second day backs turn out more successful more of the time.Something like that.
